For the twelfth episode of Soul Connect series begin your morning with the Music of the Manganiyar’s with Anwar-Gazi Manganiyar and Group from Jaisalmer, to be held on Sunday, 27 May, 7:15 am onwards, at Mandir Shri Brij Nidhi Ji, Chandni Chowk, inside Tripolia Gate, Jaipur.
The Manganiyars are storytellers of Rajasthan, with a spellbinding combination of rhythm and melody. Anwar Khan’s lyrics and his commitment to inter-faith worship, blended with Gazi Khan’s exceptional Sufi vocals and the complex play of khartaal-dholak, lend richness and depth to the group’s folk renditions.
